HUPO Young Investigator Award - Deadline May 15th , 2008
Guidelines
- You must be 35 or younger to qualify for the award;
- You are in an academic or non profit institution;
- You hold a position as a Postdoctoral Fellow or an equivalent position;
- You submit an abstract to the HUPO 7th Annual World Congress, Amsterdam 2008;
- Please submit your biosketch and the submitted abstract together with a cover letter, and a reference letter from your mentor/supervisor to Dr. John Yates at jyates@scripps.edu ;
- The deadline for applications is May 15th, 2008.
A winner will be chosen and invited to present an oral presentation at the HUPO Amsterdam Congress; the registration fee to the Congress will be waived; the winner will receive an award of $1000 US.
F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG Travel Awards
Deadline June 1, 2008
Once again, this year, F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG is generously offering a limited number of travel awards to students to help cover the cost of transportation to the HUPO 7th Annual World Congress, Amsterdam 2008. www.HUPO2008.com . The amounts awarded will be equivalent to a round-trip (economy class) ticket. Funds will be awarded by priority to abstracts selected for an oral presentation, and then to posters according to the score received by the abstract.
In order to be considered, applicants must:
- Be either a graduate student or post-doctoral fellow (sorry, no P.I.’s)
- Have an abstract accepted for oral or poster presentation at the Amsterdam congress.
- Apply by no later than June 1, 2008
- Submit their abstracts to the congress by the advertised Abstract Submission deadline. Late submitted abstracts will not be considered.
- Anyone eligible and wishing to apply for a Roche travel award is invited to send an email, by no later than June 1st, 2008 to sylvie.ouellette@mcgill.ca with subject line “Roche travel award application”, indicating the log number of their abstract and attaching proof from their institution that they are indeed enrolled as a graduate student or post-doctoral fellow. They should also indicate the city from which they will be traveling and the projected return travel cost to Amsterdam (economy class).
Since funds are limited, we regret that not everyone will be able to benefit from this opportunity. People who received an award from F. Hofmann-La Roche AG to HUPO Annual World Congresses in the past are not eligible. In addition people who received other travel awards this year are not eligible.
Genome Canada Award to Canadian Students

Genome Canada is generously offering a limited number of travel awards to Canadian students to help cover the cost of registration and transportation to HUPO 7th Annual World Congress, Amsterdam 2008. www.HUPO2008.com

- Be either a graduate student or post-doctoral fellow at a Canadian University in Canada (sorry, no P.I.’s)
- Have an abstract accepted for poster or oral presentation at the Amsterdam Congress.
