The 2010 election of HUPO Board of Directors (Council) took place in 2010 online, for the first time. In the past, the election took place during the General Assembly of HUPO at HUPO's Annual World Congress.
In September 2009, during the last General Assembly, the members voted for a change of the HUPO by-laws allowing the electronic election. This is a major milestone for HUPO.
The number of seats to become available as of January 1, 2011 per region is as follows: Americas: 4 seats, Europe/Africa : 5 seats, Asia/Oceania : 3 seats
